Gatheredat the foot of the Mount Sinai, the children of Israel have just received from the Eternal a wonderful present: the Torah.
And, to symbolize the presence from now on in their environment of this divine message which establishes the Torah, Moses relates to them, engraved by very G.od, in letters of fire, both Tables of the law.
These, from this moment, will accompany them, locked into the Holy Arc, the most sacred part of the Tabernacle, through all their wanderings in the desert.
These two Tables carried each five of the Ten Commandments that the Eternal had been anxious to record there.
